We are delighted to announce that Dr David Sharpe KC of 12KBW has been appointed Chair of the International Bar Association Sports Law Subcommittee.
David is a leading authority in sports law and Joint Head of the 12KBW Sports Law Team. He practised as a doctor to Consultant level in Emergency Medicine prior to qualifying as a barrister. David specialises in handling serious sports injury cases (including clinical negligence), concussion cases, and anti-doping cases. He retains an exceptional knowledge of scientific matters relevant to the intersection of sports and medicine.
David is also a member of the Sports Resolution UK Panel of Arbitrators and Mediators, the Sports Disputes Solutions Ireland Panel of Arbitrators, the Board of Appeal for Classification and anti-doping panel of the International Paralympic Committee, the Judicial Board of World Sailing, Chair of Player Status Committee of the Irish Football Association and a Panel member of the World Athletics Disciplinary and Appeals Tribunal.
