Chambers is seeking a Practice Manager to join their outstanding clerking team.

Our Practice Management Team is consistently recommended for exceptional clerking in Chambers & Partners and the Legal 500.

You will be responsible for your own team of barristers with a dedicated Assistant Practice Manager to assist you. You will be guided and supported by three Senior Practice Managers and the Director of Clerking.

The successful candidate will be someone who can work well under pressure and is keen to develop their career in a forward-thinking and proactive environment.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Diary and practice management
  • Practice development
  • Negotiating and agreeing fees
  • Preparing reports for the purposes of practice management
  • Managing relationships with existing and new clients
  • Proactively developing business on behalf of Chambers
  • Team development and leadership

The successful applicant will have the following:

  • Ideally at least 5 years’ experience working in a similar environment
  • Excellent face-to-face communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • A focus on excellent client care with a professional and service-oriented approach
  • A working knowledge of Equality and Diversity code and Fair Allocation of Work in respect of clerking members of Chambers
  • Team ethic with significant ambition to learn and progress career
  • Strong initiative and willingness to work in a pressurised environment
