A Leeds-based legal team has secured a £1.4 million lump sum settlement for a man who suffered a traumatic brain injury after a serious accident at work.
Barrister Pankaj Madan of Exchange Chambers and 12 King’s Bench Walk, London was instructed by Warren Maxwell (Partner), Nickie Maple-Pearson (Associate) and James Fox (Paralegal) from Stewarts LLP, Leeds. They reached the settlement after a remote mediation held by video with all parties working from home.
Throughout the case, the defendant had disputed the claimant’s traumatic brain injury and his need for support. Yesterday’s remote mediation brings his 4 year legal battle to an end.
Commenting on the case, Pankaj Madan said:
“This case is yet another example of how remote mediations are becoming the new normal.
“In my experience, success rates for remote personal injury mediations are similar if not more efficient than mediations conducted in person. With the technology now available there is no reason for even very serious and catastrophic personal injury claims to lose momentum if all the parties are prepared to work collaboratively.”
Pankaj specialises in Traumatic Brain Injury from the subtle to injuries of the utmost severity.
The mediation was neutrally conducted by Richard Methuen QC of 12 King’s Bench Walk having been sought equally by both parties
