Alexander Cornelius

Alexander joined Chambers in October 2025 following the successful completion of his pupillage under the supervision of Patrick Vincent KC, Charlotte Reynolds, and Edward Ramsay. He is in court several days a week, appearing in small claims and fast track trials alongside interim applications.  He is interested in all the core areas of Chambers’ expertise.

Alexander obtained an Outstanding on the Bar Practice Course, supported by a scholarship from Gray’s Inn, with an overall average of 90% and marks of 98% in Civil Litigation and 97% in Criminal Litigation. He also obtained a distinction in his LLM at University College London obtaining the highest mark in the year in International Commercial Litigation.

He has been a guest lecturer at the University College London International Commercial Litigation summer school.

Personal Injury

Alexander appears in court several times a week in both liability and quantum disputes, including cases with issues such as alleged fraud. He recently defeated an allegation of fundamental dishonesty in a fast-track whiplash claim.

He is an experienced advocate who also acts in preliminary hearings, disposal hearings, Stage 3 hearings, and infant approval hearings.

Credit Hire

Alexander has extensive experience of Credit Hire and enjoys the legal arguments. He has had recent success in running Copley v Lawn intervention arguments and dismantling claims of impecuniosity.

International & Travel

Alexander is keen to develop his travel practice, having excelled academically in the subject and having assisted on a lengthy trial involving the application of the Rome II Regulation and the correct approach to issues of foreign law during pupillage.

He is particularly interested in the recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments, having written articles on the subject for the Chambers’ blog.

Consumer Credit

Alexander has provided Pro Bono advice to a consumer in relation to a claim brought by a car finance provider. This built on his experience as a paralegal defending motor finance commission litigation. As a county court advocate before starting pupillage he attended numerous small claims hearings involving such issues alongside contractual disputes.
