On 27 March 2023, the Lord Chancellor presided over the appointment ceremony at Westminster Hall, where he formally bestowed the title of King’s Counsel.
King’s Counsel are appointed by the King, on the advice of the Lord Chancellor. He is in turn advised by an independent Selection Panel which receives and considers each application and makes recommendations as to appointment.
Andrew Roy specialises in complex and high value cases involving personal injury, costs, industrial disease, clinical negligence, professional negligence, limitation and related areas. Andrew has a significant appellate practice.
Andrew is ranked as a leading barrister in both Personal Injury and Costs by Chambers & Partners and The Legal 500.
Andrew is also the Head of Pupillage at 12KBW and head of chamber’s Costs Team. He sits as a Deputy Costs Judge of the Senior Courts.
